lewdjaw’s residency ran from February 13th - February 19th 2017.
Inhabiting our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts, his output focused on his relationship to locations and the soundtracks of nostalgia.
His biography spoke of graphic design and his ideas of coolness, both in culture and as linked to the subjects of otherness and the outside. He presents invented depictions of places that relate to himself and his life such as Loughborough University Towers, the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and the Clifton Cathedral. The project is part of his ongoing exploration of azerty as a context or articulation that forms his main methodology.
Past works have drawn influence from typography and graphic design, furniture design, literature, youth culture, clip-art and football.
He used the residency to post sequentially, each day, a different image and accompanying soundtrack, providing an insight into his heritage.
